The Dec 2022 Funferal will be a keynote event of Out of the Ordinary: On Poetry and the World, a conference on poetry and poetics to be held at the University of Canberra over December 5-7, 2022. The emergently metrical, song-like qualities of the book's clauses, which regularly approximate to ballad in both rhythm and rhyme, will provide one bridge between Joyce's last book and the conference theme.
